In the last post from my soon to be published book The Trillionaire & The Knights Templar I discussed that King Solomon had COMMITTED to God to fulfill the promise to build the GREATEST temple EVER to house the sacred ARK OF THE COVENANT.
Continuing:
“First Solomon sent a message to his father’s friend, King Hiram of Tyre, asking him to cut down the world famous cedars of Lebanon located in his area that were to be used extensively throughout the temple and King Solomon’s palace. King Hiram was very pleased because Solomon paid him handsomely for the trees and the work to bring them to where Solomon needed them. Hiram received 100,000 bushels of wheat and 110,000 gallons of pure olive oil (just figure the price of that oil today!) for every year that it took to complete the project!
“This massive project of cutting down the trees was undertaken by 30,000 men drafted by King Solomon as forced labor. For cutting the stone used in the temple Solomon drafted another 80,000 and then 70,000 men carried the stones. There were 3,300 foremen in charge of the entire temple building project.
“The temple had the following dimensions: inside it was 90 feet long and 45 feet high. The entrance room was 15 feet deep and 30 feet wide. Against the outside walls a 3 storied annex was built with each story 71/2 feet high. Each room in the lowest story was 71/2 feet wide, in the middle story 9 feet wide and in the top story 101/2 feet wide. The ceilings and the beams were cedars of Lebanon.
“King Solomon required that the stones be prepared at the quarry as there was to be no noise in the area where the temple was being built!”
Solomon KNEW the importance of doing this temple for God RIGHT!
