So returning to our scenario at Chartres. By this time the Templars were possibly becoming too wealthy in the eyes of the Roman Catholic Church. The Pope must have decided to see if his spies could locate THE ARK OF THE COVENANT. What the Pope did not realize is that the Templars had their OWN vast spy network that must have gotten word the Pope was looking for THE ARK OF THE COVENANT.
You also have to realize the Templars were experts at both writing and deciphering code! I am sure between their spy network and CRYPTOLOGY expertise they realized it was time to move THE ARK OF THE COVENANT to a place of safety.
So what leads me to believe the Templars even had THE ARK OF THE COVENANT? The answer is found inside Chartres Cathedral as I mentioned in previous posts. Researchers found the remnants of some writing and of course the representation of what looks like a cart on the LEFT column with THE ARK OF THE COVENANT loaded on it as seen below.
